Is Sonic underpowered?

Is it just me, or is Sonic underpowered compared to other Sonic characters?
I mean, Amy gets a hammer, Knuckles has Super Strength, Tails, Rouge and Cream can fly, Silver and Blaze have telekinetic powers, and all Sonic gets is Speed.

Shadow has guns but it could be worst you can have one line like Vector or just in a few games like cream so Sonic should be lucky
